Video Visit to Feeding Center in Singida, Tanzania with Mary Kuhn

I had a women here help me post this movie. The sound isn't good but it was just taken at the Singida Chidren's feeding center which feeds about 500 kids each day and then number is growing. They prepare 2.5 boxes of food each day. I'll have more to share but just want to get this off as there's a storm which means power could go anytime.

Pediatric Medical Mission-Saturday

This is Ginger, Floyd's daughter typing a quick update...

I spoke with Floyd this morning and WOW... what a difference we are making. The Pediatricians have seen over 170 children. The children that have been provided with the Kids Against Hunger (KAH) miles since October are now at the 60th percentile for height and weight!!!

The Team also had 25 children visit for blood test. Of these kids, only 2 tested positive for Malaria. What an improvement some clean drinking water will do. Of course, we would like to see Malaria sickness nonexistent, but for now those number are a staggering improvement!

We have an incredible Team working and will have many great photos and video when they return to the United States.

Pediatric Medical Mission 2009

The first members of the Pediatric Medical Mission Team departed from the United States Friday January 9, 2009!!

There is a large amount of coordination that is required for each mission. The Medical Missions require the most coordination of all. This is the first Pediatric Medical Mission, coordinated and sponsored by the Founders/Directors Floyd and Kathy Hammer.

There are a total of 39 volunteers: of which 9 are surgeons, 12 are Registered Nurses (RN) and the balance being support staff!

As with any Mission, there are always surprises. Most often these surprises happen once the Team arrives in Tanzania. However, the surprises began prior to departure this year!!

This morning it came to the Directors attention that the container of all the medical supplies had not yet been unloaded from the ship. These supplies include the surgeons basic needs to complete safe, sanitary procedures on the children in the area!!

There is basically only one option to cure this problem....... the planned schedule will have to be modified. More on this when the Directors are in an area to update us!
